From Bangladesh Tigers T20s to Test series — jetbuzz gives you the chance to bet on all the big moments in cricket. Match winner, toss, top batsman and more markets, all in one place.
Cricket's three formats and popular competitions
Cricket runs deep in Bangladesh. T20, ODI and Test each have a completely different style, pace and strategy, which means the betting markets differ as well.
T20: In just 20 overs, the result can swing at any moment. BPL and IPL are the two most popular tournaments in this format. When the Tigers play in the T20 World Cup, the talk goes on everywhere from tea stalls in Dhaka to offices.
ODI: In a 50-over match, mid-game momentum plays an important role. ICC tournaments and bilateral series are the main attraction here.
Test: In the longer five-day format, betting markets shift gradually. Session-by-session odds, innings runs and the chance of a draw all carry significant weight.
Football and other sports — how they differ from cricket
Beyond cricket, jetbuzz also offers betting on football. A football match ends within 90 minutes, and the market is built around three outcomes — win, loss or draw. In T20 cricket there is no draw, so the difference between the two is clear. For a full football betting guide, visit the jetbuzz football betting page — it covers markets, odds and leagues in detail.
Cricket has a large number of markets because of variables like innings, wickets, overs and run rate, and the odds take on a new shape at every stage of the match. Football focuses mainly on the number of goals and the winning team. The two sports give you a completely different betting experience.
Betting is also available on table tennis, volleyball and a few other sports, but among Bangladeshi bettors cricket and football are by far the most active.
Popular betting markets in cricket
Knowing how each market works makes it easier to place a bet. Seven common markets are summarised below.
Match Winner
Pick which team will win. In T20 or ODI there are only two outcomes — team A or team B. The simplest and most widely played market.
Toss Betting
Bet on which team will win the toss before the match starts. The result is known quickly and is unrelated to the main match.
Top Batsman
Bet on which batsman will score the most runs in the match. Odds in this market move up and down based on each player's recent form.
Total Runs Over/Under
Bet on whether the runs scored will be more (over) or fewer (under) than a set number — a popular market where you do not have to think about which team wins.
Multi Bet
Combining selections from multiple matches multiplies the odds together for a bigger potential return. But if any one selection is wrong, the whole bet is lost — both the risk and the return increase.
Handicap Betting
A virtual advantage or deficit is given to one team to level the market. This market becomes more interesting when there is a large gap in quality between the two sides.
Multi Bet Example
Say you place bets on three matches at odds of 1.60, 1.70 and 1.90 respectively. The combined odds come to 1.60 × 1.70 × 1.90 = 5.17 (approximately). A ৳100 bet returns ৳517 if all three selections are correct. But if one selection is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
Odds are written in three ways — understand the difference
The same odds can appear in three different forms. jetbuzz usually shows decimal format, but knowing the other two lets you bet comfortably on any site.
| Format | Example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Decimal | 3.00 | Returns 3 times the stake |
| Fractional | 2/1 | ৳2 profit for every ৳1 staked |
| American | +200 | ৳200 profit on a ৳100 bet |
Example 1 (even odds): Team A to win — Decimal 3.00 = Fractional 2/1 = American +200. A ৳500 bet returns ৳1,500 if it wins (৳1,000 profit + original ৳500 stake); ৳500 is lost if it loses.
Example 2 (favourite's odds): Team B to win — Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400 (minus odds means how much you need to stake to win ৳100). A ৳500 bet returns ৳625 (৳125 profit).
Live Betting — odds shift when wickets fall
Placing a bet while a match is in progress is called in-play or live betting. Here the odds update in real time with every over, every wicket and every change in run rate.
Why live betting is different in cricket: Say Team A is batting and has made a good start in the first 5 overs — their odds of winning shorten (they become the favourite). Then three quick wickets fall and the odds flip. That moment opens up a new betting opportunity.
In-play markets include: runs in the next over, who will take the next wicket, at what score will the current partnership end — small, specific markets like these. Keep in mind that live betting moves fast — there is less time to decide.
If a match ends in a tie or rain causes an interruption, the outcome of your bet is determined according to jetbuzz's terms and conditions. It is worth reading those rules before placing a bet.
Some practical tips for cricket betting
Start with one market. Rather than betting on many markets straight away, starting with just the match winner or the toss makes it easier to understand how things work.
Set a budget beforehand. Decide how much you are willing to spend before you start. Betting is a form of entertainment — chasing losses by increasing your bets is not the right approach.
Understand the format. A team that performs well in T20 may be weaker in Test. Each team's performance varies by format.
Keep pitch and weather in mind. On a spin-friendly pitch, pace bowlers become less effective. If rain is forecast, total runs markets can be affected.
Play responsibly. Betting is for enjoyment, not a guaranteed way to make money. Following the responsible gaming guidelines keeps the experience healthy.
Cricket Match Winner — example with decimal odds
In a limited-overs match there is no draw, so there are only two outcomes. Say Team A's odds are 1.45 and Team B's are 2.75. A ৳1,000 bet on Team B returns ৳2,750 if Team B wins (৳1,750 profit); if Team A wins, ৳1,000 is lost.
The higher the odds number, the less likely that outcome is considered to be. Team B at 2.75 means they are the underdog — the potential return is higher, but the chance of winning is lower. Keeping this relationship in mind makes it easier to read any market.
